Moscow doctors for veterans

The Moscow City Health Department annually holds informational, educational and preventive events “Moscow Doctors for Veterans” dedicated to Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, the Department will prepare video lectures and infographics especially for older Muscovites on the prevention of various diseases, proper nutrition and physical activity. Useful tips that will help improve your health, maintain vigor of body and spirit. The materials are also available on social networks, where young people can get useful information and pass it on to their grandparents during a telephone conversation. New knowledge about health is a good reason to show concern, call veterans, older relatives, congratulate them on the holiday "Victory Day" and wish them health.

For the International Day of the Dentist (February 9), the Department has prepared infographic "Oral hygiene in old age".

The Youth Council of the Moscow City Health Department and the Youth Councils of the organizations subordinate to the Moscow City Health Department traditionally hold ceremonial and informational and educational events on the territory of medical organizations of the Moscow city state health care system, dedicated to the celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day (February 23), Victory Day (May 9), and Veterans of Military Operations Day (July 1) every year.

The Youth Council of the Moscow City Health Department, together with the Moscow City Public Organization of Pensioners, Veterans of War, Labor, Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (hereinafter referred to as MGSV), launched a new project, “School of Medical Knowledge for Seniors,” to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory. Master classes and lectures on current medical issues were organized and held. More than 500 veterans took part in the events in 2024. Lectures and master classes are planned for February–April 2025 in accordance with the wishes of veteran organizations.

In the 4th quarter, the Youth Council of the Moscow City Health Department, together with the Youth Council of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution “F.I. Inozemtsev City Clinical Hospital of the Moscow City Health Department”, held 2 informational and educational events:

• Lecture on the Basics of Osteoporosis Prevention on October 29, 2024 for 100 veterans;
• lecture on the basics of preventing complications of diabetes mellitus (retinopathy; nephropathy; neuropathy) on December 17, 2024 for 100 veterans.

In anticipation of the National Unity Day celebration on November 1, 2024, the patriotic campaign "We are together!" was held at the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution "Hospital for War Veterans No. 1 of the Moscow City Health Department". The campaign "We are together!" became not only support for veterans, but also an example of active participation of young people in socially significant projects.

The Youth Council of the Department, youth councils of organizations subordinate to the Department will take part in the All-Russian events "St. George's Ribbon", "HOORAY TO VICTORY!" and other interactive flash mobs and challenges, and also provide information support on social networks.

Representatives of public associations of veterans are members of public councils and the Board of the Moscow City Health Department.

The Public Council of the Moscow City Health Department includes Georgy Ivanovich Pashkov, Chairman of the public association “Moscow City Public Organization of Pensioners, Veterans of War, Labor, the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies”, member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

The Public Council under the Moscow City Health Department for conducting an independent assessment of the quality of conditions for the provision of services by medical organizations includes Natalya Viktorovna Bogdanova, Chairperson of the Medical Commission of the Moscow City Public Organization of Veterans.

The Council of Public Organizations for the Protection of Patients' Rights under the Moscow City Health Department includes Ivan Andreevich Slukhai, Chairman of the Moscow Committee of War Veterans.

The members of the Board of the Moscow City Health Department are:

• Milyutin Igor Aleksandrovich - Deputy Chairman of the Council on Medical, Social and Home Care for Veterans - Head of the Department, physician of the State-Public Association "Moscow House of Veterans (Pensioners) of Wars and the Armed Forces";
• Pashkov Georgy Ivanovich - Chairman of the Moscow City Council of Veterans.

Representative of the Moscow City Health Department - assistant to the head S.N. Braun is a member of the Moscow City Council of Veterans and the Council of the Moscow House of Veterans of Wars and the Armed Forces.

Since 2013, an agreement on cooperation has been in force between the Moscow City Council of Veterans and the Moscow City Department of Health.
