Deputy Mayor of Rakova: SMS notifications from intensive care are now available in all adult hospitals in the capital
03.02.2025The SMS notification service, which allows relatives of a patient in intensive care to learn about his or her condition, has become available in all adult hospitals in the city that have switched to a digital model of documentation. To date, since the launch of the project, about 120 thousand messages have been sent with information about the health of Muscovites in intensive care. This was reported by Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova.
"We all understand perfectly well how people feel when their loved ones are in intensive care. Unfortunately, everyone experiences anxiety, fear, stress and eagerly awaits the doctor to share the news. However, there used to be a problem in receiving it. That is why last summer we launched a unique service, thanks to which relatives can learn about the patient's condition via daily SMS messages. It briefly and clearly indicates all the key health indicators, as well as is given conclusion on the dynamics of the state of health. The project was very well received by Muscovites - since June, about 120 thousand such messages have been sent. And I am pleased to announce that the service has now become available in all adult hospitals in Moscow that have switched to a digital format of work," — the deputy mayor reported.
A message about admission to the intensive care unit is sent automatically to the number the patient indicated during hospitalization. To connect the SMS notification service, a relative must contact a doctor in the intensive care unit, who will put a corresponding mark in the EMIS about the connection. After connection, relatives will receive SMS notifications daily in the morning until the patient is transferred to another department or discharged - then the mailing automatically stops. The message contains information about the main health indicators of the intensive care unit patient: temperature, pulse, blood pressure, saturation, heart rate and respiration. The daily report also notes whether the patient is conscious, connected to a ventilator, and assesses the dynamics of recovery.
All adult hospitals in the capital are currently connected to the service. They operate in the format of a digital clinic. The introduction of advanced digital solutions is a key part of Moscow's healthcare development strategy. Earlier, the Digital Resuscitation service was introduced into the work of Moscow hospitals, available to specialists in the resuscitation and intensive care departments. It allows working with the intensive care card in electronic form, and also ensures the automation of key processes related to medical activities in the department.
Moscow has been digitalizing its healthcare system for over 10 years. The basis of this process is a single digital healthcare platform, which is being developed jointly by the Moscow Social Development Complex and the city's Department of Information Technology. It allows for personalized care of each patient.nbut at all stages - from diagnosis and treatment to subsequent observation.
