How does the heart affect teeth?
If a person already has serious cardiovascular diseases, periodontal tissues receive less oxygen and nutrients, and inflammation in the gums increases.
It's a vicious circle: heart problems worsen the condition of the gums, and diseased gums put even more strain on the heart.
If you have cardiovascular disease, be sure to inform your dentist. They will take this into account when planning your treatment.
