Moscow is annually increasing the volume of specialized and high-tech medical care (HTMC). This is facilitated by the use of modern minimally invasive techniques and a reduction in the average length of a patient's hospital stay, the most advanced medical equipment, and continuous specialist training. This was reported on its channel in messenger "Max" Sergei Sobyanin said.

"High-tech medical care is provided in 32 city hospitals across 20 specialties. Last year, over 129,000 people received it. In Moscow alone, over 200,000 people received it, including 15,000 children. This is more than six times higher than in 2010," the Moscow Mayor wrote.

Last year, the list of high-tech medical care types included new treatment methods in the fields of traumatology and orthopedics, cardiovascular surgery, hematology, and pediatrics, including revision joint replacement for extensive bone defects and using custom-made structures manufactured using additive 3D technologies.

In total, over 4,000 surgical procedures were performed using robotic technology in 2025—twice as many as the previous year. Of these, over 97 percent were for cancer patients. Additionally, 835 surgeries were performed using the Gamma Knife.

Moscow hospitals continue to upgrade their fleet of heavy medical equipment. Specifically, in 2025, 278 units of high-tech medical equipment were purchased under lifecycle contracts, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) scanners, X-ray diagnostic machines, angiographs, ultrasound machines, video endoscopy systems, and much more.
